A native to the Southern States of the USA, Mexico, the Caribbean and northerly parts of South America. Other common names include, Prairie Gentian and Texas Bluebell. The botanical name comes from the Greek words ‘lysis’, which means dissolution and ‘anthos’, meaning flower.
