Flower Reading Certification Course with Cheralyn Darcey ~ Online

Traditional Flower Reading has always enabled me to connect easily and deeply with Nature.
For me, it began with a bit more than a deep interest, it was a Passion for Plants, particularly Flowers and this lead to a lifetime of study of Botany, of Gardening of Cultural Practice, of Mystic Usage, of the Language of Nature and of course Herbal Lore.

It is an ancient practice that everyone just naturally practiced in life. People knew what flowered when, what to expect of the changing seasons, how to understand their place in the world, the warnings, the affirmations and the guidance that a deep connection with Nature secured for them.

While teaching Traditional Flower Reading, I have watched students bloom as these connections reignite within them. I really do not teach anything new or difficult at all. What I do is show the pathways back to what you already know, through the sharing of my extensive collected knowledge, through empowering yet simple nature based exercises, through the free availability of an in person and on line community of like minded souls, Traditional Flower Readers like you.

I offer an extensive course on line in Traditional Flower Reading which has proved incredibly popular and id available at any time to new students. Once you join, you are invited to connect to our on line private on line group, which is home to other students as well as Certified Traditional Flower Readers. Assistance and friendship is always close at hand as well as our weekly chat sessions.

The Course features videos, a huge amount of resources in the form of down-loadable notes, audios and worksheets. You can share and discuss the content with me and the other members of our Flower Reading Community at any time in our forum too, so you are never alone. I am also always happy to assist you privately as you make your way to Certification.

Traditional Flower Reading On line Certification is designed as an 8 week course but you have access to the entire course as soon as you join and you can take what ever time you wish to complete. Some of you may have a short block of time and some experience with similar modalities already so you may complete the course in shorter time, others may take longer due and you may in fact take as long as you like.

You may access all of the materials for the full course as soon as you book and always have access to it. You do not have to be on line at 'special times' You can see and you can download the notes, worksheets and audios and photos to your computer and you can access the videos from any connection. Access to the forum is open to you always at any time as well.

I call the practice the I have developed from my 30 year connection with Traditional Flower Reading, Florasphere. Really I have done this so people can easily find and connect to my work, to the community that has grown up organically around it and for there to be some sort of definition. This word to me simply means the world of plants. I have a website and here I have been busy recently developing a resource for other interested in sharing and continuing in connecting a little deeper with Nature, particularly Flowers.

What is Flower Reading?

Traditional Flower Reading is simply interpreting the Language of Nature as spoken through Plants. We are all made of energy, as are plants. We connect with each other and our environments in various ways. By understanding and interpreting the patterns, the cycles and the relationships between plants, ourselves and the environment we can find the messages, guidance, healing notes and most importantly, reconnect with Nature to live whole lives. A Flower or Flora Reading looks at what is already there, it does not put our modern interpretations on it, rather it reconnects us with Nature.

 Where Did it Come From?
Flower Reading is nothing new, it is as old as the human race. People have read the powerful messages in flowers and connected with them to bring joy, healing, guidance and to understand what was happening around them. It is no secret that we have become disconnected with Nature. We put our modern take on everything. We smother out the pure heart of what is already here as we manipulate, twist and use nature in ways that will give us the quickest, fastest and most gratifying answers. In this, most of us have lost one of our senses, the ability to Read Flora, to truly understand Nature and live with it.

Can't You Just Use Essence Meanings to Get Flora Reading Meanings?
While I very much enjoy using Flower Essences created by others they are only part of a very large picture. Essences as usually created to balance emotions and to bring about a change within a person. The 'meanings' that you will find written out in books and on websites will be focused on healing someone. This information is valuable and very relevant but it is only a part of the picture. Flora Reading involves a multi faceted understanding of the messages and the conversations that are constantly going on in the here and now.An Essence is a healing tool, a Flora Reading is an interactive, personal guidance modality. More than a modality, it is learning to live within Nature!

I had a Flower Reading that gave me a message from a Spirit. The person said they didn't need to know much about the Particular Flower at all. They held/looked at the flower and gave me the answers.
This is not traditional flower reading. This is Psycometry, the method of reading an object with psychic abilities to gain a divination reading.  It is still relevant and a modality that I use, in part as well at times. Someone who reads via Psycometry alone is reading the vibrational energy patterns  between you and this single flower and tuning in to any spirit energy surrounding you.
Traditional Flower Reading, traditionally also called Floromancy or Floramancy, involves reading with some Psycometry but the foundation is on Nature First and your place in it right now. In a Flora Reading there is a lot more conversation going on between you and the Flora Reader as you explore and discover your connections for guidance, healing and balance as well as importantly reconnection to what is going on around you. A Psycometry Reading will give an answer, a Flora Reading will illuminate the answers and teach you how to work with what is found.

Can You Use Pictures of Flowers and Plants to Read?
Yes you most definitely can. I would say though that it can be a little harder for the beginner to tune into the energetic patterns and language of plants this way without some guidance from the person who created the image (the photographer/artist via a guidebook or teachings) or through personal physical connection with the plant in the past.Using Flower reading Cards is a great way to connect with imagery and the energy of flowers as the person who has created the deck would of used flowers they have found in person to create he deck so these would have very strong connections for you.

Can You Use Flowers in Spells & Blessings?
You already do! Giving people flowers on occasions is a blessing! People have been creating Flower Spells since time began. There is evidence in ancient caves of what seems to be altars with arrangements of dedications before cave paintings. A Spell, a Blessing is a magickal way of focusing on your intentions to create change. When working with Plants and Flowers in Spellcasting, you need to have a good understanding of Magickal Correspondences and the energetic qualities of the Flora that you wish to use.

I want to Learn to be a Flower Reader, how do I do that?
You already know how to read Flowers and Flora, you have just forgotten. Perhaps, like me, you may of noticed the messages and felt a stronger understanding as a child and have been drawn ever since to Flowers and Plants. Maybe you have just felt a recent longing to connect. About 30 years ago I wanted to dedicate myself to really understanding and studying Flower Reading. I began researching, creating artworks, travelling and learning, always learning.

I have more questions! I want to interact with others who love Flower Reading too!

just be with nature

Some mornings I do wake up and feel flat, tired and I wonder where the flowers are.
I am deeply dedicated and passion filled with the growing knowledge and love I have for Nature and particularly Flowers.
I am also human, living a very human life and so I am not immune to feeling disconnected at times.
What I do know is true is that Nature does heal. It does empower and it does illuminate insight. But I also know Flowers, Trees and Plants are not going to march up to me, nor are they going to somehow give instant knowledge and 'make me' feel better or magically improve things for me. Not me, not anyone.
I need to get up, go out and just be. I need to connect, study, relearn, to honour. I need to understand and develop this relationship and I need to care for it.
It's a new step everyday and it's a constantly weaving path on a direction set with honest dedication.
I wish you a little time today to just be ~ find a growing flower, a turning leaf, a tree and just be. Don't ask for answers or demand new insight, just listen and be.

Australian Holiday Flowers for balance, healing and joy!

I work with flowers and plants from the world over but I am Australian and the first published work of mine is focused on Australian Wildflowers -

BoxCoverRecently I have been  giving presentations, workshops and interviews about life's work with Nature, my writing and art surounding the environment and because we are nearing the holiday period, I am often asked which are the more uniquly Australian flowers that we can connect with at this time.

No matter what your beliefs or traditions, this time of the year that marks ends and beginnings, seasonal changes, family and friend festivities and the giving of gifts and moments of celebration, is a very joyfully uplifting but also challenging time for us all.

We are tested on all planes of our existence: emotional, mentally, physically and spiritually, so it is of little wonder that we love to fill our homes with greenery for earthy coolness and calm, red & golden and silvery flowers for strength and to attract abundance. We do this subconsciously through connection with tradition but also because we inherently know and are attracted to what we need in nature.

Unfortunately in our busy lives we often become disconnected and so the messages of nature get drowned out. In order for us to connect, we need more and more additives to feel and experience the message. To even know Nature. More glitter, more tinsel, bigger Christmas Trees, redder flowers, brighter lights and yet more glitter. Our lives are so noisy, busy and big that we just don't see what is already here. We fill it with more to drown out everything else so that we may feel we count, are heard, become a part of everything.

Try to take a step back and experience what the season has brought you, wherever you find yourself. what is flowering? What is changing? Look for Nature Glitter!

Remember that when harvesting flowers and plants to bring into your home, not to destroy the plant that is providing you with what you require. Only take what you need and do not over trim. It is best to try and grow your own plants so that they provide you with your Nature Glitter. Let them grow with you, care for them and in return they will show you so much more than just their prettiness. By observing when they flower, how they grow and change, you will notice so much more about you and your connection with Nature will deepen.

I often advise that Christmas/ Midsummer flowering plants are wonderful starters to gardeners who wish to create a more spiritual space and garden. This is usually such a hectic time and the flowers, the  little voices of Nature, making their various appearances over this time will provide insight, balance and deep connections.

This is from my little NSW Christmas Bush ~

Christmas bush2

I planted this right at the front of our current home because I knew that in the comings and goings over this time, her beautful stars would remind us all of what was important at this time. She is there to catch our eyes and our hearts and gently pull us all back to what really is important at this time.
It is such a joy to watch her flowering, to notice when and how and to observe her shifting rosy hues on summer evenings spent under the gum tree next to her.

Perhaps you would like to invite an Australian Native Flower that is natural to your area into your garden this year as well. These are locals which are traditionally connected with time of the year. They flower in December, they are have within them the energies of the season of celebration, of the coming together of friends and family, of new beginnings and most importantly of hope.

Meet Daisy & Xan

I have loved sharing Flora with you all recently.
I have drawn her for such a long time. She is my little Nature friend who just seems to be always there  and it was only through a sad moment that I shared her on-line. She sort of blossomed out into the wider world when things were at a low point.

The response has been not what I expected or was even looking for. She was there because she made me feel a little brighter about a situation, little could of I realised how she connected with so many other people.

Your emails and messages have really been so inspiring to me and so I have shared a little more of her world as the weeks have gone by. I find it very beautiful that my journals and sketchbook have been the garden bed of something organically created for no real 'purpose' but have actually become such a lovely healing and uplifting work for others too.

Each time I open my computer, there are more notes from you with stories of how Flora has changed your day or connected in some way with you and it makes me smile so warmly and I am very blessed to share those moments with you too!

I was asked this week TWICE if Flora had a dog. I guess this is because I have two gorgeous dogs!
well yes she does! Flora has lots of friends that I will be sharing with you over the next few months but first ~

Daisy & Xanthorrhoea

Daisy is a very sweet, loyal and lovely friend. She is indeed a Boxer Dog and of course she is a resuce! Very misunderstood breed and unfortunately her kind has a very high 'dump' rate. Boxers are the most adorable puppies but people just don't understand the huge commitment their nature entails. Flora invited Daisy to come live with her in the Florasphere gardens. Daisy loves sunny garden spots, long walks. helping out in the garden and cuddles.

Xanthorrhoea is a cat and were he came from no ones really knows. He just sort of turned up in Flora's garden one day and no matter how hard she's tried, she can't find out where he's from. He is a tad cheeky, very smart and likes to be called Xan (pronounced Zan). It's a little hard to work out exactly what Xan likes, he doesn't share much but he seems to like catnip, chasing dandelion seeds and telling everyone else what to do.

November ~ Festivals, Nature Talks & Sharing Flowers!

I have been a bad blogger this past couple of months I KNOW!
If I had to make a Resolution for New Year's it would be to not be so neglectful of my blog as I do love it ever so much. I dont like resolutions for New Year's BUT I do see the value of commitment.
So it shall be, but I will start.... NOW :)

I have been incredibly busy with publishing deadlines, article deadlines and just life in general. I probably did say yes to a few more other things than I can physically handle alone but it is very hard to  turn away really worthwhile long term things I've been connected with in the past and opportunities to join friends in adventures and events.

Personally ~ I'm slowly losing weight and November saw 5kg gone! I'm staying on track with my long distance walking and eating clean and healthy. It's hard when traveling but I've given up my chocolate booster grab habit. If it was going to break, then I would of said Melbourne could of been the time, but I was fine.

SO!......Last month was amazing!
My very first Mind Body Spirit Festival Seminars in Sydney and Melbourne and a chat in my hometown Library as well and the finishing off with a signing and Flower Sharing event with fellow artist and author Sofan Chan at my local Dymocks.

It was brilliant having full rooms and such engaged people. Melbourne blew me away with the interest for my work and welcome! THANK YOU! It's a little scary venturing away from the place you call home with your work.

What a fascinating night and back in the place I grew up. I went to school at Orange Grove Primary, lived in the area and went to High School at Fort Street High. It was actually the waterways and urban bushland pockets of this area tat my love of flowers was seeded. So a very special night for me.

Balmain Library

In Sydney I shared a general chat about Traditional Flower Reading in one of the Seminar Rooms. I had spots on Thursday and Saturday and on Sunday a really fun lively spot in the Speakers Cafe.

Sydney ~ meeting my friend Laura Bowen for the very first time in person!

Flying into Melbourne for a whirlwind visit. I arrived Saturday morning and left Sunday afternoon and what a welcome and how lovely it all was. I was blessed with a lunchtime Seminar Room both days and I shared a chat on combining Traditional Flower Reading with Healing Modalities.

I adored being part of the Rockpool Team for this amazing event and it really was such a blessed time. Meeting many friends in person for the first time and making new ones.

Melbourne ~ The amazing Rockpool Team that make magick possible!

I spent a wonderful afternoon at my local Dymocks signing copies of the Australian Wildflower Reading Cards and sharing space with Sofan Chan, the talented and dedicated author and artist of the Buddhism Reading Cards.

Oceancare Day Festival! I've been invited to exhibit in the Environmental Artist Tent.

Early Next Year
The beginning of the year sees me visiting Brisbane Mind Body Spirit Festival and also hosting a full day workshop in Sydney at the Botanic Garden. I look forward to meeting you at these events. The Gardens is such a special day to me and I can not wait to share that day with those than want to join me.
