Be an OUTCOME CREATOR!

Hello gorgeous Wildflowers!

It's THAT time, the time of New Years Resolutions, of another year to look forward to and new plans, dreams and hopes.

Most of us look back over the previous year and you hear a lot of "I'm glad it's over, I want a better year next year". We then start the next year with new diets, new plans and a shinny new attitude. We burst on to the scene like the hero who will make it all happen. But like a movie that runs loo long, we lose the plot at about March and then relegate THIS year into the pile of... "Ok this year isn't going so well, can't wait till it's over".

What if there was no calendar?
What if you didn't know the end and the start of a year? A month?
There was just each day and we didn't count off any more than that?
Sunrise over sunflowrs by Aaeannao Na&#

Imagine if you had a goal or a few things you wanted to achieve, and you just brok down what you needed to do. Time wasn't the factor, it wasn't relegated to something to be done by the end of seemingly big chuck of time (a year). It was a thing to be done and YOU had to decide how to achieve it as quickly as possible. Not RUSHING it, just doing it effectively.
To achieve:.... A DESIRED OUTCOME

Interesting?......
You need to make a salad and you have no ingredients to make that salad. You are hungry and you want that salad NOW. You COULD wait until  7pm, dinner time but the thing is, you actually haven't eaten and time is irrelevant. You are tired, hungry and need to eat!
You actually pretty much need that salad in order for you to fuel your body so you can do other things. Well the thing to do would be to get to the market/shops ASAP and get your ingredients, come home and make the salad straight away.
Just get on with doing it. There is no clock watching or waiting for the right time. You could, but you are hungry! If you went to the shops, came home and realized it was 6:58pm and you won;t be able to create the salad by 7pm, your usual dinner time, WHY WOULD YOU STOP! You wouldn't say, well you know what? Too close to dinner time now! Even though I REALLY need this, I'll just wait until breakfast to start again.

Calendar dates have nothing to do with the events that you need to create in order to move forward.
Energetically, Lunar, Celestial and Earthly Timings do assist and challenge but I tell you now, they do not change final outcomes for those who use them as they are MEANT to be used! You can plan incredibly well and use these influences to assist you by working in focused ways which connect with the various energy changes.

We are all impatient and we are looking for the magical key which will bring us all the abundance and success we would like. We need something to blame outside of ourselves if we fail and time is such an easy one. We can move our diary entries to the next month or year because obviously the moon didn't pass through planet abc enough times and well, you know everyone found the last retrograde of Mercury just too hard to do anything and LOOK it's almost 2019 so let's start a fresh then!
473677606_344

In the meantime, look at all the days you wasted.

This year I was given a Publishing contract and it was incredibly interesting reading all the emails and messages from those who don't know me in person offering advice and concern that :"Oh dear, NOW your work is cut out for you! Especially as you are creating Art AND Writing!!  You will be so busy! I hope you cope with the pressure"

It was then that I learned, most people do not create whole bodies of work, they drift and the plan but they don't DO! For me? Well apart from natural editorial changes I will need to do,  and maybe some art changes, I don't see why this added pressure will happen. I have a huge portfolio of work that represents my Passion and my Path! I have already written two books, created artwork for three decks and written their guide books. In fact my answer in my head when I hear these concerns is:
"what do you think I've been doing all these years!"

The answer? Working and Developing! I had no intention of submitting work unless it was my best work, unless I had completed all the steps along the way! There NEVER will be a time in my life that I say, Oh well you know this old work, well you know it wasn't REALLY what I was about because ALL my work is ALWAYS what I'm about.

People HAVE great ideas and they have FANTASTIC INTENTIONS and outlines and synopsises and you know sometimes they finish writing ONE BOOK or ONE body of ArtWork. Then they sit back and wait for something to happen. Got that New Years Resolution DONE this time.... *ahhhhhhh*

Some people get a new job, start a new venture, knowing it is just the beginning of their planned career but they get comfy and after a while the plans, the dreams, well, they just fade away and they stay right there on the first step. If something happens to pushed them off that step. Next year, next time, they will try and again. When the time is right. The calendar turns.

You need to keep going!!

This isn't just about picking yourself up when things go bad. It's about lifting yourself higher when things are going great! You finished writing that book! Awesome, well start submitting it and get started with your NEXT book! Are you a Writer or are you someone who wants to be Published???

Are you a Resolution Maker, Calendar Watcher and Manifestation Daydreamer
or are you a Outcome Creator!!

Don't wait for an EVENT or a DATE! Just keep doing what you LOVE and keep working on the tasks you KNOW you must do to achieve your desired outcomes.
If you don't know what they are, there is your first step! Go and find out....
EXPLORE, LEARN, CREATE!

Don't write down New Years Resolutions for 2014...
Write down Desired Outcomes for LIFE!

Under these break down what you need to do every day.

Oh yeah......
AND.....
GET A JOURNAL!

Yes you will laugh, here she goes again.... GET A BLOODY JOURNAL!
WaratahG

Get lots of journals!
I keep a different one for each of my Desired Outcomes and these actually end up forming the basis of my publications and artworks.
They are NOT dated because some days I write War and Peace and sketch more than Joseph Banks, others I have not so much to say at all. Oh but I JOURNAL every single day.
PLEASE get into the Journal habit for 2014. I have had a few of my friends say let's make it
2014 the Year of the JOURNAL.
If you ascribe ANYTHING to the year, make it this.
AND stop looking at what you think are PRETTY and AMAZING journals and being put off.
If you found a copy of your Great Great Grandmothers Journal, Grimore Diary and it was filled with HER scratchy handwriting and stick figure drawings. Would you slam the covers, toss it aside and smirk "Well THAT'S crappy!" OR would be entranced for days, glassy eyed over her drawings of stick flowers, thrilled with her shared joy of growing herbs and smiling at her cursing over the butter churner? You know the answer!
When I have taught journaling in person, my greatest piece of advice is to write as if you are talking to your great great great grandchild, who is about 30 years of age. Give them a name if it helps and every time you feel like your journaling is CRAP, just think of your space-age descendant.

D2808b83d582bdc32a8cedc89345e3dc

OK so no New Years Resolutions!!!.........
Lets's look at examples of creating Desired OUTCOMES for LIFE!

DESIRED OUTCOME = LOSE WEIGHT , GET FIT
If your desired outcome is to get fit then EVERY SINGLE DAY, you need to go for a walk/run/swim/do yoga etc, eat healthy food, work on your mind to keep it healthy! Even if you lose 'the weight' get 'fit' what then? Great 2014.... TICK!
NO this is a desired OUTCOME. Like any OUTCOME you need to look after what you GET! So again the calendar has nothing to do with it!!
ACTION + every day I will live Healthy

DESIRED OUTCOME = WRITE A BOOK
If your desired outcome is to write a book. Is it to write ONE book in your life? or is your Desired Outcome, to become a writer? Well writers work every day. They are physically WRITTING, they are researching, they are being writers. AND if they finish writing their book, then they start another one.
Waiting for the RIGHT year to write your book and setting yourself up to complete it by the end of said year is very strange. How do you know how long this book is going to be? What about the unexpected events that may change your entire ideas about this story?
ACTION = Starting NOW I will write every day!

DESIRE OUTCOME = EDUCATION
If your desire outcome is to gain a qualification then start NOW! Ok maybe 2014 isn't right to start that Degree Course but you know what is good for? Supporting courses that will get you on your way.
These ACTIONS I'm sharing with you are building blocks to your Desired Outcome! Sitting back and crossing off the big stuff because you cant possibly put it in your Resolution List for this year is a cop out. So is starting  BIG things that you REALLY know deep in your heart that you cant possibly complete (being REALISTIC isn't being WEAK). Setting yourself up for a FAIL is just being a martyr and THAT energy only hurts YOU.
ACTION = begin ANY study, even self study towards your Educational goals.

ANY Desired Outcome, be they relationship orientated, creative, family, personal and so on, will be made up of the small things and we can ALL do those small things, every single day.

Before you know it, the days turn into weeks, the weeks into months and the year is done and you can look back at all you have completed. Each year ADDS to the following. There are no gaps filled with your WAIT TIME.
When a Publisher talks to you, there are many books and great bodies of work complete, ready to go! When an Art Gallery or Collector says YES to your work, you have a nice selection for them to choose from.
When you want to go on a Fun Run or Hike, well you can do so, without last minute trying to get fitter in a flash because, oh yeah, you stopped working out in February waiting for the next time January rolled around to get Fit!
When you notice your life is filled with great friends, good relationships and love, you realise it's because you worked on your Desired Outcomes every single day.
You didn't wait, blame the calendar, the moon or anything outside of you.

What you CREATE and COMPLETE each day,
will MANIFEST your DESIRED OUTCOME,

no matter what the Calendar tells you!

I Wish YOU, your Family and your Friends
Much Love and Happiness

PODCAST ~ Flowers and Divination

Hello Wildflowers!

On one of my Bike Rides a few weeks ago, I show how to listen to what the flowers have to say by really looking at the wntire moment and place.....

Flower Scrying is probably my favourite form of Flower Divination.
This hand made clay bowl I have, sits at the entrance of my home now and is used for only this purpose. You can also read flowers by casting them on any body of water, a lake, river edge, even the sea!

Journals

I have been asked a lot the past few days if I keep the notes
I create that I've spoken about recently.
Of course I do!
WaratahG

In order to create my Artworks, write my Books and the Guidebooks of my Decks
I have lots and LOTS of Journals which are the heart of my work.
As I'm exploring, researching, sketching, carving, printing and painting,
I keep these Grimoires/Journals alongside me
and I write and doodle in them as I go.

If you have ever taken any type of workshop with me,
you will know I am always saying the finest tool you
can ever have is a Journal and the best skill you can develop is keeping it.

It is an honest, dedicated path to growth and to creative integrity.
It's a brave thing to do, to share your journals, but so is creating, especially
when it revolves around your beliefs.
Rest assured, fear dissipates with time, confidence
and honesty.
Confidence grows from creating work with integrity.

Those who are confident in their work and who are honest in their creative processes
and their spirituality, if their creativity is so entwined,
never have an issue opening their books.

If you are struggling with any of this, are you creating to feed a niche or are you

creating in line with your true inner voice?
Is it your Passion or what you think others want to see?

Whatever you call it, get A JOURNAL, gets lots and visit every single day.
They are incredibly special to me because all my dreaming,
inspiration, creation, insight and magic happens on each page.

Australian Christmas Bells

Happy Holidays to YOU!

Blandfordia nobilis is known Gadigalbudyari in the Cadigal dialect and Christmas Bells or Christmas Bush and is a small perennial member of the lily family found along the Eastern NSW and Southern Queensland coast.  Growing to approx. a meter high they hold up to 20 flowers high on each stalk in reds, crimsons and yellows. Incredibly hardly, it weathers the notorious heatwaves of the coast very well and flowers from late December through until February.

HOW DID IT BECOME "CHRISTMAS BUSH"?
Depending on where you are in the world, different flowers are connected with the celebration of Christmas. There are Universal flowers and plants such as Holly and Evergreen, Mistletoe and Poinsettia and these have become entwined with the Christmas message through local custom and people simply going outside and seeing what was there!

This is exactly how the Eastern Australian love affair with Christmas Bush/Bells arose. I'm often asked what the story is and how the connection was made, but one only has to take a walk outside in December along a lot of the NSW coast in Australia to see great drifts of it. Christmas Bush has become more and more popular, especially in my home city, Sydney.

People in the colony times simply looked to flowers that reminded them of the key symbolism of  the European Christmas of their birth places. Christmas bush, with it's red flowers in tiny bell shapes and it's appearance at the 'right time' would of more than fit the bill.

Christmas Bush is mentioned as such in colonial letters and sketched and painted by the artists of the time on gifts, cards and greetings.

Louisa Anne Meredith, an artist of the time that I ADORE, refers to it as such in the 1830s:

“We used to meet numbers of people carrying bundles of beautiful native shrubs to decorate the houses, in the same way we use holly and evergreens at home… it is a handsome verdant shrub, with flowers, irregularly flower shaped and go from green to crimson in colour”

ENERGETIC QUALITIES
joy, deep connection with the fae and children, stronger connection with faith, family communications, letting go of physical desires which are doing harm, overcoming disappointment in personal failures, manifestation support and guide (connects desire with action)

AS A WILDFLOWER ORACLE
Be incredibly careful for what you focus on for right now. The door is open to bring that which we desire into being. Christmas Bell bursts forth at the right time for it, but are you ready? Often we think we are and because we have not done the homework and the ground work, we end up not having the physical assets to keep the energy of the opportunity flowing.
You may need to take full ownership and responsibility in order for you to progress.
Christmas Bell is also a messenger of  spiritual joy to come, things which can not be measured physically but spiritually. New additions to family, new enlightenment in faiths, greater understanding in life purpose and new meaningful friendships which are for our greater good.
The challenges of Christmas Bush are to not let your physical desires impact negatively on you or those around you. Be very careful not to neglect the things in your life which are more important than money, possessions and your personal desires. A lack of connection with the concept of the All will be your downfall.

IN MAGICK
Use in any working to inspire progression of faith, stronger family unity and control of greed. Can be used to inspire and uplift Fae and Child energy.  Life Purpose divination workings and focus.

Whenever and however you get together,
for whatever belief or reason....
I wish you much love and happiness.

Creative Confidence

I have taught and shared a lot of creativity with many people in different countries. All ages, all skill levels and all interests in various situations, mediums and exploring many different outcomes.
What I have noticed is that there are four very distinct camps when it comes to humans and their artistic personality. Yes you all have one by the way. Yes you, even you who proclaims to be unable to draw a straight line!

Manly lagoon
"Wandering Manly Lagoon" 40x30cm Photography & mixed media, Cheralyn Darcey 1992

We are all Artists, Creativity is not some magical power, its a human trait we all have.
Cooking, gardening, storytelling, fixing cars, painting pictures, making candles, scrapbooking, writing blockbusters, and so it goes on.

The four personalities that probably head up a myriad of sub types are:
The Confident Creative
The Arrogant Artist
The Suffering Scribe
The Disappearing Dismissive

Not all Art is or even needs to be Genius or a raging success, in fact 99.9999999999% of Art and Creativity isn't. Most of it is considered average by most people.
We live in a competitive world and Art and Creativity are judged far more really than there is a need for it to be. I am as inspired by the passion and the clever observation of the most unskilled creative as I am by a grand master.

THAT is what being an Artist is about.
Art isn't the skill you have mastered to execute form, it is the life you live.
Your ability to connect with others.
It is the passion, the generosity of spirit and the love of life and fellow humans, the way you observe and interact which makes you an artist.

You can not create in 4 enclosed walls without interaction.
Art is the human response to the creation of another human.
Great Art? It all starts with CREATIVE CONFIDENCE.

So the four main Artists!

The Disappearing Dismissive
They may actually like art but they are very frightened that if they are FOUND OUT as not being good at it, they will of failed a test. The sub types within this are those who proclaim Art and Creativity as a total waste of time and may actually believe it and then those who secretly create things but tell no one. They disappear when someone suggests we all sit down and draw together at bonding sessions or make a sandcastle. If they cant be the best they are not interested, OR if they create they might be laughed at. Better to run away!

I knew a man many years ago who created the most amazing model train scenes in his garage.
The only reason I knew was that I worked from home and I would hear the trains during the day and being the nosey neighbour and gregarious person I am, I asked him. At first he told me they were nothing, mear toys from his grand-kids and he was testing them. Nothing to see, just silly trains.
Gradually over MONTHS he shared a little more until FINALLY we ended up spending coffees over his trains as I marvelled at the tiny tiny people he hand painted under magnifying glasses and was called over to see the latest edition to his mountain tunnel systems.
He was incredibly creative and artistic but he was frightened of being judged by those he considered experts in a field that he loved. I've said this many times, most art and creativity isn't genius art, and most proclaimed genius art is simply not so. It's in the eye of beholder and it's not even to do with personal taste. A whole lot of filtering goes into the end opinion of those who proffer these opinions and judgement on value and the merit.

Creative Confidence is something the Disappearing Dismissive LEARNS over much time. Usually it takes ONE person they admire or THINK is somehow at the peak of the creative heap to give them very strong GENUINE encouragement and praise and along with admission of their own failures and creative fears. That cracks open the door to Creative Confidence for them.

The Suffering Scribe
WOW, they never 'make it' BUT everyone else does. Their work is better than everyone elses but no one appreciates them, they work harder than everyone else and well, they can be martyrs. They are often very ridged and here in lies the root of their lack of Creative Confidence and also their salvation. Creatively Confident people ARE FLEXIBLE! If something isn't working, THEY ADAPT.
They work very hard at what they do and if it isn't working they take what is, and develop.
Being the long term Suffering Scribe that no one will give a break to while presenting the same work is not displaying CREATIVE CONFIDENCE or even determination. It's resting on the Laurals of completing something and expecting everyone to put you up on a pedestal for doing what everyone else is doing... WORK! It is a form of laziness and giving in. SURE you may of worked for ten years writing that novel, but she aint there yet! You MAY get a break, but you haven't yet so keep working!
I don't know how many people have shown me a body of work over the years and told me they have tried to get it exhibited, published and no one is interested. They NEVER change it, listen to advice, or DEVELOP! They just keep banging away at doors for 10, 20, 50 years with the same thing.
We all suffer for our art. Long hours, little chance of 'making it' repeated failures. Yes it certainly does take a long time to be an overnight success but you don't have to sleep all that time like Rumpelstiltskin! Keep working, keep learning. Be Confident in your ability to Creative not on your label as an Creative person. KEEP CREATING!

The Arrogant Artist
You don't get a chance to even find out for yourself, within 5 mins they will tell they are the number one of whatever statistic they crunch for you. First person to use a paintbrush backwards in history, biggest writer of cookbooks for insect eaters in the world, and so on. They are exhausting to be around and incredibly scary for anyone else who considers themselves Creatives in their circle as there is only room for one number one.

Strangely, they consider themselves mentors, will slightly encourage but only when it suits and will quickly release, condemn and cut off those who come near there self supposed greatness.  They much prefer an adoring audience than peers and students. To a lot of others, they appear incredibly confident. It is bluff and smoke and mirrors hiding a lot of self doubt and more often than not I've found that there is something they don't want others to know and sometimes dishonesty surround their work. They will also be incredibly dismissive of work they can't do!
Creative Confidence is never rude. It isn't bitchy, it isn't selfish.

The Confident Creative!
YOU CAN BE THIS!!!!!!
Some people have CREATIVE CONFIDENCE naturally, others need to work on it. The big issue is that, like any confidence, you have to really believe it, live it, BE IT!

It isn't thinking your art is best,
it's thinking it's best to create art!

It isn't thinking you need to be first,
it's knowing that art is an evolving circle not a race to finish line.

It isn't thinking you need approval,
it's  embracing the process and any outcome as part of a bigger picture.

It isn't thinking you deserve to be rewarded for you efforts,
it's creating anyway no matter the outcome or reward.

It isn't putting yourself on a pedestal,
it's being generous with your art, passion and knowledge.

It isn't mean, angry or aggressive,
it's knowing that greatest strengths in creativity comes from generosity, joy, and love

A Creatively Confident person constantly learns new skills, shares, creates without worrying about beating out others to be first best or greatest. They are focused and have goals, they are prepared to adapt, listen and learn. They approach new ideas and use the assets they have and learn new ones as needed. They do not rest of self imposed laurels. They see failures as learning posts and they are 100% transparent and honest with everyone. They never play the blame game or ANY GAME!

Most of all, they willingly take on creative projects
BECAUSE IT SPEAKS TO THEM AND CONNECTS WITH THEIR LIFE PASSION!

They  with confidence in their ability to 'give it a go' without fear of failure, judgement or putting themselves in an invisible race of their own making with their peers.

They would create anyway no matter what!

YOU can start being Creatively Confident by believing in yourself.
Block out the judgements of others and yourself.
Seek to IMPROVE and LEARN, no matter where it is you are starting from.
You aim is the process, the work, not the grading of the outcome!
The outcome is to do, to complete and to learn.

Wildflower Beginnings

Ribbons of Sunlight

Melbourne, Australia – Winter 1980
Melbourne
(Melbourne Australia)

Nearly seventeen, the beauty of the bush and its friends enchanted me, small town life did not.  My adventurous, curious young heart yearned for the excitement and expansive possibilities of the city and she very soon got her wish.

I moved to the place I then thought every aspiring dreamer had a chance of making it. Melbourne. Why not Sydney? Well because sometimes we listen to the dreams of others and somehow they become our own.  I had always longed for the beautiful harbour city of my birth and younger life, Sydney but a cool guy on a shiny motorbike changed all that. Our relationship of a few months ended before I ever stepped off that train in Flinders Street, Melbourne. He was not, I’m afraid, as steadfast at following dreams as I was. So I followed his.

I found a job in a bar and a yellow weather board house full of artists and musicians in the middle of the close-to-city suburb of Toorak.  The house sat on a huge block of overgrown mayhem which matched the inhabitants perfectly.  Life was full of paintings, music, sculptures, markets and laughter.

I had run away from home, from a place where magic, pagan ideals, looking after the environment and being spiritual where second nature. I took one thing with me, Tarot. Never charging, I read for customers and staff in the bar I worked at and when things where quiet or I ‘entertained’ with one card draws during busy times. Tarot was a rare thing at the time, rarer still a tarot reading barmaid and my boss loved it. With the added attention came popularity and with that a relationship that did me much more harm than good which thankfully was again short lived.

I loved Tarot, seriously it was love. It still is. The imagery and stories in those pictures are a little world in my pocket and a way I found most engaging when it came to understanding life, those around me and the heart of so many matters. That deck and I had many conversations in that little yellow house back then and I knew that it was something that I would never let go of. I never thought deeply about the hows and whys and as rebellious teenagers do, I didnt care much for the spiritual, pagan ideals of my parents. It was the 80's and I was 'living the dream' of a runaway aspiring actress/artist/performer.

Winter came, a coldness I had never felt and an illness that changed my course. At first I thought I had the flu. I battled in that little yellow house for two weeks; no one really knew what was wrong with me. Doctors told me it was pleurisy; years later I was to learn it was tuberculosis. How I caught it I’ll never know but I’ll never forget the way it made me long for warmer, kinder days and familiarity. I wanted to go home, to Sydney. I didn’t know how, it all seemed too much and then those never ending dreams each night of sails upon a blue harbour, the span of her bridge, jacarandas heavy with the promise of summer, called. Still I lay in the cold of my misery and apathy.

One sunny winder Melbourne day, still recovering, I drifted in and out of sleep on cushions and throws arranged to catch the morning ribbons of sunlight through old windows. I was sad, alone, miserable and very scared. The comfort from the sun streams where like hugs and soothing caresses. They whispered no longer dreams, but now promises of jacarandas and flame trees, cicadas and surf. I slept in those dreams of change.

And then, the scent of roses awoke me. My eyes still closed, I imagined that somewhere one of those white washed windows had been left ajar and the sun and breeze had brought the perfume along to me.  Then, gently at first but slowly strengthening, the light grew with an intensity my eyelids could no longer black out. No sound. I opened my eyes. Then. She was there.
I did of course have to prove I wasn’t dreaming. Instead of pinching myself, I sat bolt upright and slapped my face. It hurt, I was now wide awake and the woman surrounded in light and flowers with her glorious wild hair was still there.
The woman of flowers smiled and my heart was alight, her sweet lips, slightly parted almost to say something. Though she never made a sound I felt her messages. Hair wild red, golden, bronze, all at once. A wild tangle of strands, tiny plaits and flowers which framed an angelic face of mixed race which made me believe her perhaps slightly Asian, maybe Native American at the time. Eyes of blue vividness and the softness of one with infinite care.. She was exotic and angelic all at once. Magnificent and calming.  Brilliant white light and forest darkest greens overlayed with a magnificent cornucopia of blossoms. A dress of muted rainbows. Of gossamer butterflies.

Back then in Melbourne, my very first thought was that she was a ghost. It was a very old part of Melbourne, the little yellow house sat on foundations almost as old as settlement. She smiled at me and took a flower from her hair, brushed it across her cheek.  Though the perfume of roses still permeated the air, it was another bloom but still somehow familiar.  Tiny tiny flower of felt.  Flannel Flower.

I had stood and when I briefly glanced away she was gone. The room was still filled with perfume, warmth and love. I coughed, the wracking cough I was plagued with, then walked to the sink to grab another glass of water. A ghost? For many hours I sat on the front steps and walked the wild ‘gardens’ of the little weather board house in Toorak. This house was an old remain of the past, was the lady one also?

That afternoon one of my housemates returned. I so wanted to share my story but thought he would think me delirious in my illness. I started with the standard, “Do you believe there are ghosts?” His answer was quick, “Did you see one?” The opening was clear so I took it and plunged into sharing of my encounter. He listened, interested and then said something that was to be the very beginning of what you are reading today.

“She was either an Angel because they often come with the scent of Roses or perhaps she was your guide but I don’t think she was a ghost.” Having just about zero knowledge of angels due to a non-religious though Pagan upbringing and only a tiny idea of guides, (hey I didnt listen to my Mum either!)  I was intrigued. As I said, I read tarot so wasn’t entirely ignorant but I had taken things no deeper.

At first I imagined she may have been an angel as she was so beautiful and my friends’ comment on her rose perfume seemed to fit very well. I had never been so terrifyingly unwell so perhaps, I reasoned, I was blessed in some way with the healing and grace of a celestial visit.
Vince, my housemate, and I returned to the lounge room and there it was, laying in a ribbon of sunlight. The tiny tiny flower. Flannel Flower, not common to Melbourne at all.  It’s white-grey petals a twist protecting it’s centre. Holding it in my hand I stoked it’s velvet softness, then held it to my cheek. No scent, no roses. I showed my friend and understood all at once.
My happiest childhood days where spent tumbling in the Flannel Flower carpeted fields of North Head, Sydney.

Within a few short months it was Spring, I found a ground floor flat, waters edge, Kirribilli, Sydney. Musicians, business people and me, the artist. I spent my days painting, mostly flowers and weekends reading tarot at markets. Life was good, people where good and sometimes, when most needed, I dreamt of the Lady of Flowers.  More so, my lifelong connection with flowers as my guide had begun. I really believe it had begun at birth but had taken the visit from the Lady of Flowers in Melbourne to wake me up. At that time I had drifted so very far away from any spiritual path that a lifeline was thrown to me. I am blessed and grateful for her doing so.

(side note... I was searching for a photo of my old apatment area online and found my old apartment is for sale!
I smiled as I looked at the ultra modern facelift. It was 1/69 Kirribilli Avenue and this was the view from my bedroom... it was a special time)

Though life has taken me the long way round on its path, I never lost my connection with her blessing and gift of divination of flowers. I have found flowers in every step, as an artist in my paintings, sculptures and dreams. I see them when I least expect and when I very much need their guidance and wisdom. In the reality of everyday, in art, ordimentation, in conversation and scent upon breezes.  They speak to me their warnings, their directions, their understanding.
Enjoy, find comfort and understanding but mostly I wish you to stop, love and listen to the wisdom of the flowers.

FLOWER SPELLCASTING

WHERE DO SPELLS COME FROM?
They are collected from books and handed from one person to another. These days this happens even over the internet. They are also created by you! (The best way!) Whilst it may seem daunting to create your own spells once you understand the basics of spell casting and spell work exactly very easy.

COPYING SPELLS FROM OTHER SOURCES
If you spent time energy love and effort creating anything, especially a spell, I know you would like your name attributed to it. So please afford others the respect and care and do the same.
There is a great tradition of passing information from one person to another in Spellcrafting Apart from this it can be extremely interesting for you to reflect on where your influences are coming from.

SPELL INFORMATION TO KEEP
The type of information you need to keep is… All of it!
Much like keeping a food recipe, you MUST also keep and the alterations you've made, even by happy accident!  This is so you can recreate it in the future.
Following is a form that you may like to keep as is or adjust to suit your needs, or use as a guide in writing and keeping records of your spells.

SPELLCASTING, INTENTION,
PROTECTION & GROUNDING:

Intention is so important in Spellcasting & Blessings.
If you are not 100% focused on your Intentions and the
work you are doing to create your blessing or spell,
then it will not be successful. Think clearly and FOCUS.

Protection can be in the form you find works for you
or simply by surrounding yourself with pure white light from above.

Grounding can also be as you see fit or by visualizing yourself
connected to earth and then spreading roots deep within
the earth to the warm glowing core.
Bring the energy back to you and feel it beat with your intentions.
REALLY focus on wht you want to happen and be positive with your energy!

After your spellcasting, send the light back,
release your attachment to the core of earth,
shake, clap, yell, stamp your feet!
Come back to now and here.

A handy and simple example to keep your spell information.

for your use BUT I would try and create your own.

Foils & Adaptation!

Going through the old boxes looking for lost things,
found my old Stitches and Craft Show books etc.....

Me22

This series of Australian shows, I was incredibly proud of
as I was the first Australian to present with Powerpoint
to large audiences at these shows.

I travelled all over Australia teaching at these major shows
and at private store owners and teacher skill workshops.
Forever dreaming up ways to enable everyone to take part and
to be able to watch again and so I used to give discs away with these
presentations on them. Love to find one again!!

I went and taught myself how having pretty much zero
computer skills after realising that so many people missed
out on my workshops as they couldn't 'see' what I was demonstrating,
particularly in the large exhibition spaces.

We went from a dozen people in a booth to a huge room.

I smile today as these programs slipped out of the box
because it reminds me that anything IS possible if you are prepared to work hard!

The 'breakthroughs' and the 'luck' are the product
of your ability to be
TRUE, DILIGENT, INNOVATIVE and DEDICATED
and work bloody hard for YEARS!

When was this year of shows from this program?
12 years ago now!

OH THOSE FOILS!!!!! lol

Show1

SO!!......What DID I present this year?
WOW well each year I was tasked with teaching different things, based on the products that
had just come on the market. I'd been given a box of things from different manufactures and
dream up things.
This year? Well it was obviously Fiskars turn to 'have' me and I created Shabby Chic Scrapbooking Pages and Gift Boxes.... ahhhhh the year we al fell in love with Shabby Chic!
