The Nests

PI I'm loving watching the reaction to these in my exhibition... YES what DO they mean?
Well... as a child I was obsessed with Science Fiction. I started on Arthur C Clarke and Asimov and oh yes I am a MASSIVE fan of  the Harry Harrison series. (explains the whole rat thing now?) Dune? oh yeah! And on and on.....OK so these Nests are my little surreal Science Fiction dreams.
The series features five works "Inevitable Transformations". What will birds have to use if we destroy all the trees? Can they adapt? A little post apocalyptic but not without hope.
The first shown here is "The Penultimate Inevetibility" 57 x 32 x 21cm

Oh yes the story re the bases to all my free standing sculptures in this exhibition.
They are all part of Australian Naval history.
Parts of the old range wharf at Pittwater and the HMAS Penguin Balmoral wharf.
Another way of recycling, not only in a material sense but I feel giving this beautiful wood from this long forgotten tree a loving new purpose.

Reconciled Rejections, my solo, featuring this and other work is running until the end of the month at Studio 4, Pittwater Road, North Manly (M - F 9:30am - 5pm and Sat 9:30am -4pm) more information: or ph 0408105864

bunches of love, Cheralyn 🌻
